Special Concert Parking arrangements

General arrangements

The general arrangements for parking, for both performers and audience, are to be found on this web page

The main off-road parking is at the Old Vicarage. Overflow to parking on the North side (church side) of Church Road.

Please be super-careful crossing the road.

We are able to make reserved parking available for some but not all performers, but we trust that all our arrangements will be practical. We are very happy to make special arrangements in case of need (e.g. disabled) or carrying burdens for the concert. Please contact Lesley 01344 427561 if you feel you qualify.

Patrons of the White Hart are able to park in the pub carpark - but nobody else please!

Reserved parking

The Concert Committee have agreed to a new policy on parking for the concert itself that will help Junior Choir members and their families, as well as soloists and their families.

This policy supercedes what was previously posted on this web-page.

Up to 7pm, the whole of the church forecourt will be reserved, and the reservation will be indicated by the bollards that we usually use on the forecourt.

Reserved access to the forecourt is granted to the following if they arrive before 7pm:

At 7pm, bollards will be removed and parking on the forecourt, if available at all, will be free to all. So please be early enough not to miss the 7pm bollard-removal deadline. In emergency some bollards may remain.

Anthony Hodson will personally be on hand to give guidance when you arrive between 6:30pm and 7pm, but if for some reason he is not there and visible, all those covered by these rules are hereby granted permission to remove a bollard to enable you to park on the forecourt. Please do this as safely as possible, e.g. by moving off the road itself prior to moving a bollard if that is necessary. If you do have to move a bollard, please put out of the way of pedestrians on the forecourt.

If for any reason, you cannot find space to park on the church forecourt, people covered by these rules may park in the car-park of Popels Hall, which has an entrance about 50 yards beyond the forecourt to the East, that is, if you are coming from the West (Maidens Green side).

We are seriously short of car-park helpers this year, and hope that people will understand this and be very careful. Safety is paramount for all concert-goers, and particularly as not all cars on the road slow down in the area.

The main off-road parking area for concert attendees will be at the Old Vicarage, about 300 yards from the White Hart pub and on the same side. See the concert parking page https://fosmw.com/fosmw-concert-parking.html which shows the Old Vicarage entrance. We hope that we will be able to light this entrance up by glowsticks. Parking on the north side of the road is another resource that has worked adequately in the past – but be careful and do not park on the pavement.

White Hart customers can park on the White Hart carpark, as normal.

Please be in touch if you have any questions. Anthony's mobile phone number is 07713 607 086.

Unreserved parking

Other than these reservations, forecourt parking will be first-come first served, including for JC members. There will be no parking directors.

Late arriving JC and other group members may need to park at the Old Vicarage if there is no space available on the forecourt or at Popel's Hall

Bollards

The forecourt will be 'protected' from unplanned parking by bollards to the extent needed for reserved parking. When the reserved places are filled, the bollards will be removed for general parking.

If you are a reserved parker, you are requested to remove a bollard, if necessary, to allow yourself to park
