Acknowledgement and appreciation

The JCC is critically dependent not only on the enthusiasm of the children, but also on the support of their families, particularly the wonderful mums and dads who bring them to rehearsals, and encourage them so much! Thank you all!

Tickets

All JCC members have free entry to the concert, and one parent comes at the concession price of £6 (other adults at £13). Tickets may be available for purchase at the rehearsal. Tickets may be purchased at ONLINE!

Programme and management

The JCC will be busy in the concert. To see the full programme press the blue concert programme button at the top.

The JCC will be trained and directed by Anthony Hodson, with the help of Marilyn Rogers for the Sunday rehearsals and Madeline Holl will be the JCC accompanist (with Josh Tuffley standing in for Madeline on 1/12/19)

JCC Music

Apart from their own slot in the concert programme, the JCC will perform in:

• Item 1: 'Once in Royal David's City', processing with glowsticks in the darkened church

• Item 17: 'Good King Wenceslas' singing the Page's verse by themselves

The JCC will perform the following items for their own slot, Item 8:

• 'Something special'

• 'In the bleak midwinter' - Harold Darke's beautiful setting

• 'The Kings they came' specially written for the choir by Anthony Hodson

• Item 16: 'Teddy bear's picnic' with Anthony Hodson, bassoon

The JCC will learn these pieces using wordbooks (which will be available on this website before rehearsals start). Word-books will be provided for use at rehearsals only; the JCC will sing their performance songs by heart. Words for each song are now available from the links to musical resources.

Rehearsal and concert plans

These are the plans for the JCC (please be there 5-10 minutes before the rehearsal time; we will always start on time):

1. Rehearsals before the concert
   • Sunday 10/11/19 6-7pm
   • Sunday 17/11/19 6-7pm
   • Sunday 24/11/19 6-7pm
   • Sunday 1/12/19 6-7pm
   • Saturday 7/12/18 11am-12noon
   • Saturday 7/12/18 6:30pm short rehearsal before the concert (15 mins)
   • The concert starts at 7:30pm and finishes at about 10-10:15pm

Children should attend all rehearsals if at all possible, but we know that this isn't always possible. Missing a rehearsal will entail re-covering the new singing work in a later rehearsal.
