This is the state of the concert as of 17/10/24
Progress is satisfactory just now.
There is a new Flyer for the concert - this is the one at the top of this page. Please advise if it needs changing in any way.
William Bishop will be directing the Winkfield Chorale adult choir, and also the Junior Choir. Richard Sedding will be the organist for the adults and for the Audience carols. He will also be accompanying the Junior Choir at the concert and at the JC morning rehearsal.
The 5Ts Brass will be also performing, playing their own pieces and with their own contribution to the Audience Carols. The St Mary's Handbell Ringers will have their own slot in the programme, as always.
We have three soloists this year:
The Junior Choir has 11 childern enrolled as of 20/10/24. We have adequate Winkfield Chorale choir members.
We have two readers, Sue Bish and John Edwards, and we will also have the Kimbell Duo, Caroline and John, with their entertainment piece.
The Winkfield Women's Guild are preparing to provide Mulled Wine and Mince Pies at the interval.
Over the next two weeks we will need to finalise exactly what will be played, so that we can put together the Concert Handout. Meanwhile, a bare draft concert programme, with a draft front page is available HERE. The order of items is not final, and may be changed to suit soloist preferencec, for example.
We also request bios of soloists and notes on groups for the concert handout. Following last year, these would be for: Tony Bish#, William Bishop, Richard Sedding, Len Tyler#, Sarah Aizawa#, Darcey Bovill-Fryer#, Sarah Parker#, John and Caroline Kimbell#, The 5T's Brass#, The Winkfield Chorale#, The St Mary's Handbell Ringers#. The hashes indicate that we have a 2023 bio, which you can access using the [2023 Concert handout] button above
We need to start work soon on the full handout, and that means that we need lists of pieces and bios by 31/10/24 if at all possible please.A complete draft programme handout will be published-in mid November
Bios and descriptions of groups should be similar to last year (see the concert handout accessible on the web page), and should be between 40 and 120 words, including name, to fit into the limited space that we have in the handout, preferebly at the low end.. If you would like, you may submit a short summary of some or all of your pieces ? 30 words as a target. There may have to be editorial modification to fit into the space.
